Parliamentary session within the framework of the annual WTO Public Forum

Geneva
Switzerland

Summary

The 2019 edition of the WTO Public Forum will be held this year from 8 to 11 October on the WTO premises in Geneva (Centre William Rappard), under the overall theme Trading Forward: Adapting to a Changing World. A detailed programme of the Forum can be found on the WTO website.

Every year, the WTO Public Forum brings together over 1,500 delegates – government officials, parliamentarians, representatives of the private sector, NGOs and academia – to tackle the major issues facing global trade in our world today.

As always, the WTO Public Forum will feature a parliamentary session, which will take place on Wednesday, 9 October 2019, from 8.30 to 10 a.m., in Room D at WTO Headquarters.

The parliamentary session is open to all duly accredited Public Forum participants. The WTO Secretariat will provide interpretation in English, French and Spanish.

In accordance with WTO practice, all participants in the Public Forum are responsible for their own visa and travel arrangements, as well as accommodation in Geneva. Online registration for the Public Forum is now open. Participants are required to register online, by 16 September at the latest, via the WTO website. Registrations are handled by the WTO Secretariat. On-site registration will not be available.

The IPU is not able to handle any logistical matters relating to the WTO Public Forum and is not in a position to assist delegates with accommodation or any other such practical arrangements relating to their stay in Geneva, which remain the sole responsibility of each of the WTO Forum participants.
