The IPU is organizing a Workshop on the role of parliamentarians in ensuring implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The Workshop will take place on 19 October, from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the IPU Headquarters in Geneva, following the 139th IPU Assembly. 

The aim of this Workshop is to provide MPs an opportunity to interact among themselves and with experts on specific CEDAW provisions that are relevant to their work.

All parliamentarians, men and women, are invited to attend. Delegations from parliaments whose countries have recently been reviewed or will be reviewed in the forthcoming sessions of the UN CEDAW Committee are strongly encouraged to attend and contribute to the debates.*

Simultaneous interpretation will be available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish.
