The 62nd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will take place in New York from 12 to 23 March 2018. On that occasion, the IPU, in cooperation with UN Women, will hold its annual Parliamentary Meeting on 13 March 2018, at UN Headquarters in New York.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to contribute to the CSW’s debates on the theme “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls”.

Detailed information regarding the meeting, as well as the invitation and other pertinent documents, will be available soon. In the meantime, we invite you to take note of the date of the Parliamentary Meeting and include it in your parliament’s calendar of up-coming meetings.

Please also note that the IPU will be organizing two informal ninety-minute side-events on 14 March 2018 (10:00 to 11.15 a.m. and 3:00 to 4.15 p.m.). In addition, the IPU will be co-sponsoring an informal side-event on 14 March 2018, from 6.30 to 7.45 p.m. on the theme “Advancing Gender Equality in Nationality Laws”. Since the United Nations do not have interpretation facilities in the informal meeting rooms, the debates for these side events will be held in English only.
