Workshops for parliamentarians on AI 3/3- Global responses to emerging advanced artificial intelligence technology

The large-scale deployment of society-changing artificial intelligence is prompting legislators from around the world to consider how to develop frameworks to govern its research, deployment and use. 

The session will provide an overview of the initiatives currently underway, the approaches emerging as best practices, and what gaps exist.

This session is part of the series of capacity-building Workshops for parliamentarians on AI, in preparation for the forthcoming IPU resolution on The impact of artificial intelligence on democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

Participation is open to all parliamentarians and parliamentary staff. No prior knowledge of AI is needed. Interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish. For more information, please contact [email protected]
