Nearly every country in the world has some form of parliament. Parliamentary systems fall into two categories: bicameral and unicameral. Out of 190 national parliaments in the world, 78 are bicameral (156 chambers) and 112 are unicameral, making a total of 268 chambers of parliament with some 44,000 members of parliament. Preparation of a new IPU-ASGP guide on digital transformation
Parliament of Norway
The IPU and the ASGP invite contributions to research for a new guide on digital transformation, to be published in 2023, that will support parliamentary decision-making and leadership.
The guide will be based on data from parliaments – gathered through an ongoing survey – plus examples of actions taken, lessons learned and good practices in digital transformation. It will highlight the building blocks that parliaments are putting in place and the various pathways available to them. The guide will be targeted at key decision makers in the parliamentary administration, starting with the Secretary General of parliament.
